“If a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music which he hears, however measured or far away.” – Henry David Thoreau
Last Winter (’18) while thoroughly enjoying getting a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, my passion for playing music finally began to come to fruition, as well, and I got the desire to keep the momentum going by engaging my passion for writing, too. So, I created this blog. It is meant to be a space to share some knowledge, reflect on, and further explore the expansive, fascinating, and often humbling topics of Christianity, Mental Health, and the Arts. By sharing parts of my own journey, the music and poetry I’ve created and continue to create throughout my journey, and the works of established authors and artists that have inspired me and continue to along the Way, I hope I might be able to show how I’ve come to see how the God who didn’t come to condemn the world but to save it through him (John 3:17) has been the consistent, secure, untearable fabric, holding me through completely confusing manic-depressive mood swings, endless ADHD daydreams, a good dose of spiritual afflictions, and the risks it takes to step into who I truly am created to be.
